Student Art Displays
This picture shows student squares that are labled with a student picture and name. Each month I change the art project and/or writing that is displayed. I made the border by having my own kids do different colored handprints on yellow butcher paper. I cut it to fit the laminator and then cut strips to make the border. My kids are 21 and 22 now so I love looking at their little handprints!
We did this little art project to hang in the student squares. Students completed a snowman writing to go with it. I will post a picture of the student squares. The students wrote using the following frame: My snowman's name is . My snowman can but he can't . When it gets warm my snowman . My snowman wishes he could . I wish he could . I my snowman!

Wow! Harder than I thought!
So what is they say about best laid plans??? My goal was to have my stuff uploaded to TpT last weekend but nooooo. That's okay...teachers are flexible, right? So here's my new goal...I will have it up by next weekend!
We read the Scholastic News about Chinese New Years today. Happy New Year! I'm not Chinese but always willing to celebrate! After we read about the Year of the Dragon, we did an expository writing using the Step Up to Writing format. The little guys did a pretty good job!
Wednesday is "Tacky Day" for our first graders. If you aren't a first grade teacher you may not know that Tacky is an adorably tacky penguin from stories written by Helen Lester and illustrated by Lynn Munsinger. These books are laugh out load funny!
