Apples Galore!

Over a month since I last posted:-(  Oops!  It's summer so not much happening anyway.  I just finished my apple unit and posted it in my Tpt store.  Hooray!  I was a little concerned about doing an apple unit at first because it's totally been done.  Once I started working on it I really got going and I love the final product!  My favorite part is the cute "apple basket" students make to keep all of their apple themed work in.  Fun!

Linky Party!

Ok...here goes my first time joining a Linky Party!  I'm joining in on Kelley from The Idea Factory.

Here's the resources and things I couldn't live without:

Stanley 087472 Staple Remover, with magnet, Black
Handy dandy flat staple remover!

Gotta have a deck of cards.  On the first day of school each kid writes their name on the top (flip it over and do it again).  I use these all year to call on kids for answers, forming groups and assigning partners.  Thank you Rick Morris!!

I use Velcro to attach student responders to desks.

So many peeps are celebrating the start of summer.  Me....I have two more weeks!  Not to worry.  I'm ready to dive in and make it a memorable end to a great year.  We're doin' dinosaurs this week and I'm way excited!  I haven't done any dino stuff for a long while but was ready to do something different:-)  Of course all my dino stuff was outta date so I haaaaad to buy Babbling Abby's fabulous dinosaur unit!  I have tons of laminating to cut out!

Reading and Rhyming with Colors and Critters

I am craaaazy about these color puppets and so are my firsties!  Not kidding...each day they come in asking what puppet they will do.  Each puppet has a poem to learn!  Great practice for reading and rhyming!  I use them at the beginning of the year in first but they would be awesome for the end of year kinders.  Each puppet is on a brightly colored straw to make it easy to handle (you can use craft sticks to be cheaper). Did you notice the monkey is upside down?  Intriguing isn't it:-)

Last week my class did the last story in our anthology:  Frog and Toad.  This little guy is a part of my "Let's Get Hoppin' With Frogs and Toads" unit that is available in my Tpt store.  Check it out!  Splatter painting the body is sooo fun!  By the way, my buddy made tan ones for toads...soooo cute!
